4. Leander road rehabilitation Repavement and spot repairs on five Leander roads was completed July 28. The roads that received improvements were: Bagdad Road from Old Bagdad Road to Blueline Drive, Glass Drive from Sonny Drive to Crystal Falls Parkway, Lacy Drive from Sonny to Sheila, Sheila from US 183 to SW Drive and Mockingbird Lane from East Crystal Falls. 5. Lime Creek Road resurfacing The village of Volente will be resurfacing Lime Creek Road from Wharf Cove to Jackson Street. All work except road striping will occur between Aug. 21-25, Volente Mayor Ken Beck said. Striping will be done Aug. 28, he said. Lime Creek’s resurfacing is the first project of the village’s 20-year Street Rehabilitation and Maintenance Plan. Timeline: Aug. 21-28 Cost: $160,000 (estimated) Funding source: village of Volente
6. Crystal Falls Parkway speed limit increases to 45 mph After Leander's engineering department conducted a speed zone study, Leander City Council approved a speed limit increase on Crystal Falls Parkway and East Crystal Falls Parkway on July 6. Since then, signs have been installed increasing the speed limit from 40 mph to 45 mph on the roads from South Bagdad Road to Horizon Park Boulevard.
