The 22nd annual Austin Home and Garden Show returns this weekend complete with special guests and décor presentations. TRACE Austin is also hosting an array of events this weekend including a Beyonce-themed brunch and an ice cream social.

Artisan Showcase Fundraiser

Silverado Onion Creek will host its artisan showcase fundraiser on Thursday to benefit Alzheimer’s Texas. Guests are welcome to explore the different artwork made by some of the residents and local talented artists. Complimentary wine and light snacks are available. Free.

Attendees can meet with expert builders, contractors and special guests to get new ideas on trends in home and garden décor. HGTV’s Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri will give a presentation on how to prepare for a renovation project. Local bee and honey vendor Two Hives Honey and home and garden author Boyce Thompson will set up exhibits and host presentations throughout the weekend. Shoppers can also peruse an arts-and-crafts gift shop with artisan foods and gourmet treats. A kid’s zone will include movies, coloring, and crafts. $8.50-$9.50 per person. Children 16 and under are free.

Blood Drive

We Are Blood, formerly the Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas, will set up a bloodmobile trailer in the parking lot of the Range at Austin. Donors are encouraged to make an appointment prior to showing up. Everyone who donates will receive a free hour of range time and a free voucher for a P. Terry's milkshake. Free.

Bee-Yonce Brunch

Aug. 19 is National Honeybee Day and TRACE is hosting a special “Queen Bey,” or Beyonce, themed brunch. Guests will have a chance to try themed cocktails including a lemonade made with raw tTxas honey from Round Rock Honey and the "Sorry I Ain’t Sorry" boozy milkshake made with Mexican chocolate, honey and Patron W Select Barrel Anejo tequila. Music and a photo booth are included. Reservations recommended. Proceeds benefit local honey bee organizations. Free.

Ice Cream Social

TRACE will host its sixth annual Ice Cream Social. Attendees are encouraged to donate school supplies in exchange for scoops of Chef Angel Begaye’s sweet treats. The family-friendly event will take place after brunch and is open to dogs as well. The chef will make special dog-friendly treats. School supplies will benefit local children’s shelter Stop Abuse For Everyone, or SAFE. Free.
