Conroe ISD Superintendent Don Stockton announced Monday during the district's Celebrate Our Schools Assembly that he will retire at the end of the 2017-18 school year.

“It’s been an honor to serve in the District for 32 years with 15 of those years as superintendent,” Stockton said.

Stockton has been superintendent of schools since August 2003, and he worked at several CISD schools in an administrative capacity and as a teacher before stepping into this role.

No details have been announced at this time regarding when the vetting process for selecting a new superintendent will begin.
