There are several city meetings slated for this week, including a LCISD board of trustees meeting in which trustees are expected to approve the 2017 tax rate.
Tuesday, Aug. 15:
- Lamar Consolidated ISD will hold a special board workshop 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Brazos Crossing Administration Building for trustees to review agenda items and answer questions for the upcoming meeting.
- The Richmond Historic Commission will meet 8 a.m. Tuesday at the City Hall Annex. Members of the commission are set to provide updates on the downtown area as well as community and museum event updates. An agenda for the meeting can be found here.
Wednesday, Aug. 16
- The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony from 4-5 p.m. Wednesday to celebrate the opening of the new Advance Auto Parts location off 9845 South Mason Road in Richmond.
- Fort Bend County Library’s young adult program will hold its monthly meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday in room 2B of the George Memorial Library. The Young Adult Advisory Council offers teens a chance to volunteer, earn service hours and meet new friends at the meetings where they can share ideas, participate in programs and plan events. The program is free and open to the public.
- The Historic Richmond Association will meet 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Richmond police department.

Lamar CISD will hold its regularly scheduled
