Trustee Mikael Floyd penned a resolution for the board in support of Texas public schools. The resolution asks the state legislature to “focus their efforts on reforming, upgrading and supporting public schools,” through increased funding. “If we dedicate ourselves to school finance and try to unanimously oppose the voucher plans, I think that would be great for [Sen. Larry Taylor] to hear,” Floyd said. Taylor serves as a senator for Pearland and Friendswood, and he chairs the Senate Committee on Education.
