Friday, Aug. 11
- The Whatcha Cravin Food Truck will be stationed at the Richmond Central Fire Station for the city’s Food Truck Friday. The truck offers a variety of food including loaded season fries, fish tacos and buffalo chicken sandwiches. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. 200 Houston St., Richmond.
- The Historic Richmond Association will host its third Music in the Park event Friday at Wessendorff Park. Texas native Sydney Bryant will perform. 7-9 p.m. 500 Preston St., Richmond. Free.
Saturday, Aug. 12
- Richmond residents can see wildlife up close in the meeting room of the George Memorial Library Saturday during a special presentation from Wayne Wiegand of Brazos Bend State Park. Wiegand is the outreach coordinator for the park’s volunteer organization and will educate the public on the park, its facilities, services and some of the wildlife that lives there. - The Bud Meyer Band will perform at the Lone Star Saloon Saturday night. The Bud Meyer Band is an outlaw/country soul band originally from Rosenberg. 9:30 p.m. 102 S 3rd St., Richmond. $7 door cover.
- Love and Unity Works will host a back to school block party through its fifth Operation Back Pack Drop Saturday afternoon at the Fellowship of Love Church. The church will be collecting and distributing free backpacks, gift cards and students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12.
