What Katy ISD parents should keep in mind before school starts
School starts August 16. Make sure your family is prepared with these quick references.
The 2017-18 school year is around the corner. Here are some essential dates and resources Katy Independent School District parents should know before classes begin:
School supplies
School supply lists can be found on KISD campus websites. Most clothing and school supplies purchases will not be assessed a sales tax from August 11-13. For a comprehensive list of items included in the tax free holiday, visit the Texas Comptroller’s website.
Bus Schedules:
School bus routes can be searched by address using the school district's online portal. Call KISD's Transportation Call Center at 281-396-6008 to find out the nearest bus stop as well as bus numbers, drop-off and pick-up times.

The 2017-18 academic calendar runs from Aug. 16 to May 24, with several holidays and early dismissals planned. Here is a list of major school holidays and professional days for the new school year:
