1. Hope Clinic of McKinney to open today


Hope Clinic of McKinney is expected to open today, July 24, at the Baptist Immigration Center, located at 505 Titus St., McKinney. The appointment-based clinic offers primary care and optometry services for uninsured McKinney residents living within certain income guidelines, including an individual making $23,760 per year or a family of four making less than $48,000 per year.

2. McKinney Planning and Zoning Commission to consider site plan for retail, office, hotel, parking garage

During Tuesday night's planning and zoning commission meeting, commissioners will vote on whether to approve a retail, office, hotel and parking garage building at 205 W. Louisiana St., McKinney.

The three-story building will have a parking garage on the lower level, office and retail spaces on the first floor, and office and hotel use on the upper story, according to a letter of intent written to the city’s planning department.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Jack Hatchell Collin County Administration Building in the Commissioners Court, 2300 Bloomdale Road, McKinney. The agenda can be found on the city of McKinney’s website.

3. Public hearing focuses on assessment of fair housing


The city of McKinney and the McKinney Housing Authority are hosting a public hearing to examine housing challenges and challenges related to employment, accessibility to opportunities in McKinney and transportation. The hearing will be held at Old Settler’s Recreation Center, located at 1201 E. Louisiana St., McKinney, on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Holding a meeting about the assessment of fair housing is a legal requirement from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the city and MHA in order to receive funding for federal housing and community development.
