Hundreds of guests filled the showroom of the new Cedar Park Nissan facility July 19 to celebrate the opening of the dealership with a ribbon cutting. Officials with the cities of Cedar Park and Leander as well as Williamson County, along with the city chambers of commerce and representatives from Nissan were in attendance to cut the ribbon. The Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce held the After Hours Grand Opening celebration, which included food and drinks. Cedar Park Nissan celebrated its first day of business April 24. The dealership offers new and used vehicles as well as servicing facilities at its location at 2121 S. Bell Blvd. in Cedar Park. As part of a company tradition, General Manager Jim Wilkinson was presented with two samurai swords from Nissan officials. Wilkinson thanked the city of Cedar Park and the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce as well as his staff at the new Nissan location. He also announced a partnership with Hill Country Community Ministries, a Leander nonprofit. Wilkinson said he was raised by a single mom in New Orleans in the 1980s, so they often could not afford new and nice shoes. He presented a $2,500 check to Hill Country Community Ministries for its Laces for Leander program, which collects donations and shoes for students in Leander ISD. "The Laces for Leander program is going to make going back to school a little less stressful [for some students] this year," Wilkinson said. [aesop_gallery id="259400"]
