Apollo Global Management has agreed to buy Dallas-based golf and country club operator ClubCorp for $1.1 billion, ClubCorp announced Sunday in a news release. After the transaction is finalized, ClubCorp will be a privately held company, the release states.

“With the support of Apollo, we are confident that ClubCorp will be able to continue building on its success by providing its members with unrivaled experiences at its clubs,” ClubCorp Chairman John Beckert said in the release. “The company looks forward to working closely with Apollo as it enters the next stage of its growth.”

ClubCorp owns and operates over 200 golf courses and member clubs in the U.S. The company owns three properties in the Austin area, including:

  • The joint property of The Hills Country Club, 26 Club Estates Parkway, The Hills, and Lakeway Country Club, 510 Lakeway Drive, Lakeway;

  • Lost Creek Country Club, 2612 Lost Creek Blvd., Austin; and

  • The University of Texas Club, 2108 Robert Dedman Drive, Austin.
