Recently opened businesses in Old Town Tomball have spurred the construction of homes on the north side of town.

Developer Bryan Hutson, owner of The Hutson Group, has built several businesses in Old Town Tomball. He said popular businesses in that area, such as Tejas Chocolate Craftory and Wild Spirit Yoga, will help bring new residential builds within walking distance.

“Houston Street’s becoming my little hipster street, which is fun,” Hutson said. “I’m hoping Houston Street does become my little Austin basically.”

Tomball has also seen more residential growth north of downtown in recent years. The Reserve at Spring Lakes opened a new section of 29 homes last spring, and construction is ongoing in Yaupon Trails, a 37-lot community located near Quinn and Brown-Hufsmith roads.
