For those looking for Fourth of July events in Leander, Liberty Fest provides a variety of activities.
The free event, located west of 183A Toll Road between San Gabriel Parkway and Hero Way in Leander, is from 5-10 p.m. and includes children's activities, more than 50 vendors and live music, including the Josh Abbott Band. A firework display will be launched from the Capital Metro Leander Station at 9 p.m.
There are
three parking areas available for personal vehicles. Tents, camping, tailgating and cooking are prohibited in these lots at any time.
Prohibited items at the event include:
- Alcoholic beverages purchased outside of the festival area
- Glass
- Amplified music
- Drum kits/instruments
- Unauthorized generators
- Laser pointers
- Firearms/weapons
- Fireworks and other explosives
There will be partial road closures along Mel Mathis Blvd north of the festival starting at
4:30 p.m. The Leander Station will be closed throughout the day.
