A portion of Brushy Creek Regional Trail has reopened to the public.

The section of the trail between Brushy Creek Sports Park and the trail head at Toll 183A closed June 5 in response to bridge upgrades being made by Capital Metro to the MetroRail Red Line's railroad bridge. The trail runs under the bridge and was temporarily closed in June while the bridge was being repaired.

During the closure, Williamson County staff performed repairs to boardwalks near the bridge. Construction work, which was originally estimated to be completed June 30, finished ahead of schedule. The trail reopened on June 26, and the bridge reopened to rail passengers on June 27.

"We thank you for your cooperation and patience while the work was being completed," said officials in a release from Williamson County.
