Susan Cole was named LISD's executive director of instruction and professional learning June 22.[/caption]

On Thursday, Susan Cole was appointed as the new executive director of instruction and professional learning in Leander ISD.

“Ms. Cole has demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement, a characteristic critical to her new role of guiding LISD’s professional development efforts,” LISD Superintendent Dan Troxell said.

Cole has served as principal of Stiles Middle School since its opening in 2012. Before that, she was the principal at Giddens Elementary School, the lead assistant principal at Leander High School, an assistant principal at Running Brushy Middle School and a language arts teacher at Cedar Park Middle School. Prior to joining LISD in 1996, Cole taught in Bryan ISD for four years after starting her teaching career in Rockdale ISD in 1990.

Cole has a bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University and a master’s degree from Texas A&M University.
