Family Splash Bash
The Manchaca United Methodist Church is kicking off summer with a Splash Bash as part of its Superhero Summer program. The event will feature two giant water slides, a slip ‘n slide, a kiddie pool, water balloons and Kona Ice. Food trucks will also be on site. The event is free and open to the public.

LuluFest Austin 2017
The focus of LuluFest, a women-led band festival featuring a broad spectrum of music, workshops and concerts, will be women bandleaders, both seasoned and up-and-coming, who have committed their lives to music. All-day festival passes are $50. Workshop and concert passes can be purchased separately at $30 for adults and $15 for students.

District 8 Budget Town Hall
District 8 Councilwoman Ellen Troxclair will host a Budget Town Hall for anyone interested in learning about the city's proposed budget. Troxclair is hoping to hear about District 8 resident priorities that she can then relay to her fellow council members. Lunch is provided. RSVP at

2017 The Garden Club of Austin Annual Plant Show and Sale
In honor of the club’s 60th anniversary, how-to and teaching sessions will be offered on Saturday and Sunday every hour beginning at 2 p.m. All proceeds go to the Austin Parks and Recreation Department. Admission cost is $2 per person.
Plant sale: Sat.,10 a.m.- 5 p.m., Sun., 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Plant and flower show: Sat. noon-5 p.m., Sun., 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Tour water gardens throughout North Austin, Leander and Georgetown on Saturday and South Austin ponds on Sunday. A night pond in Cedar Park called “Aladdin and the Arabian Nights” is available for viewing Saturday night. The tour is self-guided. $20-$25. A map of the ponds are available on the Austin Pond Society website.
