1. LCRA Round Rock-Leander transmission line approved The Public Utility Commission of Texas approved the LCRA’s LHO-1 transmission line route during last Thursday’s meeting. The route will travel down Hero Way and run along Ronald Reagan Blvd. before hitting RM 1431. 2. Old Town Street Festival took place Friday-Saturday The Leander Old Town Street Festival featured vendors, beer and wine, family activities and musical guests like Rick Trevino, a Grammy award-winning country singer. Cedar Park Police boosts DWI enforcement As part of the regional Selective Traffic Enforcement Program, the Cedar Park Police Department will increase DWI enforcement from May 22-June 4, including Memorial Day weekend. The department will increase the presence of patrols looking for impaired driving violations on local roads, according to a press release from the department. 4. Cedar Park chamber to cut ribbon for Brad Morgan State Farm on Thursday The Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the opening of a new State Farm location at 12920 W. Parmer Ln., Ste. 109, Cedar Park. The ribbon cutting takes place from 3:30-4:30 p.m. 5. Leander zoning commission to evaluate daycare and residential development on Thursday The Leander Planning and Zoning Commission will consider a zoning request on behalf of the Journey Bible Fellowship, which is proposing the construction of a commercial daycare, according to the agenda packet. P&Z members will also consider an amendment to the Deerbrooke Planned Unit Development. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Pat Bryson Municipal Hall, 201 N. Brushy St., Leander.
