A handful of local eateries are expected to open this summer in Cy-Fair. Here are a few openings to look forward to.

1. Robert Gazdek and Rick Cantu plan to open Crafthouse Grill in early June at 12910 Malcomson Road, Cypress, where Kilburn’s Tavern was formerly located. The bar and grill will serve traditional American food, including craft burgers and beer. 2. Officials with Floyd’s Cajun Seafood plan to open the new location in June next to Buc-ee’s at the former location of Lucky’s Pub, 27126 Hwy. 290, Cypress. This will be the franchise’s sixth Texas location, serving up oysters, shrimp, etouffe, gumbo and po’boys among other Cajun-inspired dishes. 3. A new location of Brewingz is coming to the H-E-B shopping center in Fairfield, 28550 Hwy. 290, Cypress, this summer. The eatery specializes in beer and wings, and the menu also touts burgers, sandwiches, salads and options for children. www.brewingz.com

4. The first Houston area location of Taco Casa is expected to open late summer at 8808 Barker Cypress Road, in the Barker Cypress Village across from the Berry Center. The eatery offers fresh fast food, including tacos, burritos, tostadas, nachos, chili burgers, salads and casa delights, a fried flour tortilla covered in cinnamon and sugar. 5. The first Pizza Cucinova in Texas will be opening in the second quarter of 2017 in Bridgeland’s Lakeland Village Center, near the intersection of Bridgeland Landing Drive and Fry Road in Cypress. The restaurant will specialize in artisan Neapolitan-style pizzas, hand-tossed salads and Italian-inspired pastas.
