Transportation updates     1. Gregory Boulevard improvements

Work is scheduled to end soon on Gregory Boulevard in Missouri City, where work crews repaved the road between Fondren Road and McLain Boulevard. The eastbound lanes have been completed, and work crews are repaving the westbound lanes. Cost: $3.3 million Timeline: March 2016-summer 2017

2. Hwy. 90 road widening

The Texas Department of Transportation is widening Hwy. 90 from two to three lanes in each direction between Hwy. 6 and the Grand Parkway. In addition, TxDOT is building sound walls next to the road. Cost: $9.98 million Timeline: March 2016-October 2017

3. Trammel Fresno Road widening

County work crews are removing trees and relocating utility components in the long-term project to widen Trammel-Fresno Road from two to five lanes between FM 521 and Hurricane Lane. Cost: $15.2 millionTime line: August 2016-December 2018

4. Chimney Rock Road extension

County work crews are extending Chimney Rock Road from Acorn Glenn Trail to Cambridge Falls Drive, building a four-lane boulevard and adding a storm water system. Cost: $1.8 million Timeline: May 2017-September 2018

5. Hwy. 59 widening

TxDOT is continuing work on its multiyear project to widen Hwy. 59 between Hwy. 36 and FM 762 by adding additional lanes. In addition, the state is working on frontage roads that run parallel to the highway. Cost: $135.98 million Timeline: April 2014-September 2019
