'King Lear'
The McKinney Repertory Theatre Young Actors Guild presents the William Shakespeare show depicting the gradual descent into madness of the title character. King Lear disposes of his kingdom, giving bequests to two of his three daughters, which brings tragic consequences for all. 7:30 p.m. (Fri.), 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. (Sat.), 2:30 p.m. (Sun.). $6 (guild members), $8 (students and seniors), $12 (adults). Drug Take-Back Event
The city of McKinney and the Collin County Sheriff's Office have teamed to participate in the Drug Enforcement Administration Nationwide Drug Take-Back event. Participants can safely dispose of all accumulated expired, unwanted or unused prescription drugs. Free and anonymous to residents and non-residents. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Senior Recreation Center Covered Drive-through, 1400 S. College St., McKinney. Open Mic poetry reading
To celebrate National Poetry Month, the McKinney Mockingbird Poetry Society will host an open mic poetry reading. All poetry writers are welcome. Refreshments will be served. Free. 1-3 p.m. Heard-Craig Carriage House, 205 W. Hunt St., McKinney. www.mockingbirdpoetry.org

Night Moves Glow Run & Kid K
The race at the Guitar Sanctuary features a fun run through Adriatica and McKinney. Participants receive a shirt and three glow products. All registered participants are treated to a concert, pizza and two drinks. Spectators are also invited to the concert. 7:30 p.m. $20 (kids K), $35 (glow run), $100 (glow run team of four).
