Student enrollment has surpassed 75,000 and analysts have projected that the district will be adding close to 2,500 more students every year, according to district officials.
“It is crucial that the district keep up with the growth taking place in our region,” said Katy ISD superintendent Lance Hindt in a video statement.
In 2014, district voters approved a $748 million bond for the construction of six new schools, Legacy Stadium, campus renovations and expansions and the purchase of new technology.
