Missouri City City Council
The council will consider a resolution denying CenterPoint Energy Resources Corp.’s request to increase gas rates and to consolidate the Houston and Texas Coast Divisions. A resolution adopting a proposed list of city mobility project priorities for submission to Fort Bend County will also be considered.

The proposed projects include: Fifth Street and Bull Lane expansion to tie into Hwy. 90; proposed Beltway 8 connector to Cravens Road; Watt’s Plantation Road extension and expansion; Trammel Fresno Road expansion; Sienna Parkway intersection improvements; and reconstruction of Glenn Lakes Lane.

Fort Bend ISD and Missouri City City Council come together
Fort Bend ISD trustees will hold a special joint meeting with Missouri City City Council to discuss each bodies’ shared legislative priorities for this year as well as a proposed joint resolution calling state legislators to repeal the Texas Education Agency’s A-F school rating system.

FBISD and Sugar Land City Council held a similar meeting, which also produced a joint resolution opposing the ratings system. Sugar Land will vote on its resolution with FBISD on Tuesday.

The meeting with Missouri City City Council will take place at 6 p.m. at Elkins High School, 7007 Knights Court, Missouri City.

Sugar Land City Council


City Council will consider issuing $19.83 million in bonds to fund improvements to various parts of the city’s water system.

The Council will also consider the appointment of 13 people to the city’s new citizen task force for an Integrated Water Resource Plan. Council members will also be presented with the city’s “Vision 2032 and Guiding Principles” document.

The plan—which must be adopted by the city—outlines overall goals for the city related to pedestrian and bicycle access, parks and entertainment destinations, and hotel and conference center. The meeting begins 5:30 p.m. at 2700 Town Center Blvd. North, Sugar Land. www.sugarlandtx.gov

State of the County
The Central Fort Bend Chamber hosts the event with Fort Bend County Judge Robert “Bob” Hebert, who presides over Commissioners Court of the 10th largest county in Texas with a population exceeding 740,000. He oversees the county’s 2,600 employees and its $338 million budget.
