Hwy. 290 Project E Hwy. 290 Project E[/caption]

1. Hwy. 290 Project E


Project E entails widening Hwy. 290 to five mainlanes from N. Eldridge Parkway to Hwy. 6 and four mainlanes from
Hwy. 6 to Telge Road. Crews initiated a traffic switch on eastbound mainlanes last month and permanently removed the diamond lane. Work will continue through March on westbound mainlanes. A high occupancy vehicle lane separated by a barrier will eventually be installed to replace diamond lanes.

2. Bridgeland Creek Parkway extension


The Howard Hughes Corporation is developing a 2.5-mile extension of Bridgeland Creek Parkway, which will extend from Fry Road to the Grand Parkway in Cypress. Officials said the roadway should open this summer.


Timeline: March 2014-June 2017
Cost: $14 million

3. Greenhouse Road extension


Harris County Precinct 3 is partnering with developer Caldwell Companies on a project to extend Greenhouse Road north to Mound Road in Cypress as a two-lane concrete half-boulevard. Caldwell has completed work on the road, and Harris County is in the process of building a two-lane bridge over Cypress Creek.


Timeline: April 2016-end of March 2017
Cost: $10 million (Caldwell Companies), $6 million (Precinct 3)
Funding sources: Harris County Precinct 3 and Caldwell Companies


4. West Road safety improvements


Harris County Precinct 3 is working on a safety improvement project from east of Queenston Boulevard to West Copper Village Drive in Houston. The project includes a bridge widening over Horsepen Creek.


Timeline: October 2016-March 2017
Cost: $2 million

5. Telge Road widening


The road will be widened from two to four concrete lanes from Spring Cypress Road in Cypress to FM 2920 in Tomball. Segment 1 will move into the design phase in 2017.

6. Cypress Rosehill Road widening


Construction started in July on a Harris County Precinct 3 project to widen Cypress Rosehill Road from two to four lanes. The work being done from Lake Cypress Hill Road to the Grand Parkway will be ongoing for the next several months.

7. Grant Road widening


Contractor Angel Brothers Enterprises was given notice to proceed with construction Feb. 1 on a Grant Road widening project from Old Kluge to Spring Cypress roads in Harris County Precinct 4. The project will widen the road from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete boulevard. Harris County Precinct 3 is planning its own widening project from Old Kluge Road to Lakewood Forest Drive.


Timeline: February 2017-first quarter 2019
Cost: $7.4 million
