Three intersections in The Woodlands area have new flashing yellow lights, Montgomery County Precinct 3 officials announced Monday.

The following intersections now have the flashing yellow signals:

-Woodlands Parkway at Ashlane Way

-South Millbend at Sawdust Road

-Bear Branch at Research Forest Drive

Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack said the upgrade will help decrease wait time and eliminate congestion at the intersections.

“The flashing yellow is a much more visible indication that the turn is not protected and to yield before making a left-hand turn,” he said.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, flashing yellow arrow signals will be gradually phased in to replace traditional green signals that let drivers know they need to yield at a green light to turn left.
