As Austin prepares to host the "That Takes the Cake!" Sugar Arts Show for the 13th year, Food Network star Natalie Sideserf from Texas Cake House is drawing up lesson plans for one of the show's mini-classes. Sideserf has experienced success at the show before, winning a prize at the 2013 event with a cake shaped like the bust of Willie Nelson. "I credit 'That Takes the Cake' as my gateway into the world of cake art," she said. Sideserf's class will take place from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 in the Round Rock Sports Center at 2400 Chisholm Trail Road, Round Rock. The Food Network cake artist will work alongside students to teach the art of modeling chocolate and sculpting techniques. The class will teach how to form an edible hippo candy dish, that students can take home. Registration for the class is open here. The price of the class is $150. Other classes include forming quilled monograms, creating shrimp lo mein in modeling chocolate and crafting cake toppers. The cake show spans two days, from Feb. 25-26. General admission tickets are $12 per day or $20 for the whole weekend.
