Houston is home to a number of breweries all over the city that are open to the public, especially craft beer lovers.

Tomball's first brewery, Bearded Fox Brewing Company, will open its doors to the public for a soft opening tasting event Saturday afternoon.

The brewery, located on 11729 Spring Cypress Road, Tomball, in the Plaza One Shopping Center, will be open to the public from 4 to 7 p.m. Admission is free, and guests wanting to sample beers can purchase three 12-ounce beer tokens for $12, or they can purchase three tokens and a branded pint glass for $20.

Co-owners Mike Sturm, Marcus Garcia, Steve Early, Trey Looney, Randall Clark and Russell Klasel began construction on the brewery last summer and have since begun distributing beer at a handful of local eateries, including Cypress establishments The Shack Burger Resort and the 21st Amendment Lounge.

The brewery's beer lineup includes a red lager, an imperial India Pale Ale, a molasses stout and a coffee porter.

Sturm said he hopes the brewery will officially open in mid-June but will be hosting a series of similar soft opening events for the public.
