CHI St. Luke's Health has cut 89 jobs at emergency centers in The Woodlands and Conroe in an effort to save resources and cut down on duplicative services, officials said. Josh Snellgrove, division director of marketing for CHI St. Luke's Health, said The Woodlands Emergency Center and Conroe Emergency Center ceased operations on Friday, Feb. 10. According to an official statement from the hospital, CHI's presence in Texas continues to grow with the health system's recent acquisition of the Greater Houston Physicians Medical Association, which includes Apollo and Enzo medical facilities. Certain facilities included in the acquisition were determined to be providing duplicative services in The Woodlands and Conroe areas. In an effort to ensure appropriate use of resources, the decision was made to cease operations at The Woodlands Emergency Center and the Conroe Emergency Center. Job placement and transition services have been offered within and outside CHI's Texas division for the 89 employees affected by the closure of these facilities.
