Leander City Council approved the second round of design for the North Brushy Streetscape Project in Old Town Leander during a meeting Thursday night.
Improvements to the North Brushy Streetscape gained support in May when Leander voters approved four bond propositions totaling $70.9 million for city projects involving transportation, parks projects, a recreation center and a senior center.

City Council approved an order with Halff Associates for $94,571 for the first phase of the design during an Oct. 11 meeting. Representatives from Halff Associates presented some of the designs during the meeting Thursday night. Phase 2 of the design and engineering plans cost $140,455, according to city documents.
The city could start construction on the streetscape project in the fall, according to the proposed project schedule by Halff Associates.
