Courageous Conversations
Jan. 31
The Georgetown Public Library and Courageous Conversations of Georgetown, TX will continue their partnership hosting moderated conversations about race and social justice.
The series of conversations will use “March,” a three-volume graphic memoir by U.S. Rep. John Lewis, as a basis for discussions modeled on The Red Bench program developed by Interfaith Action of Central Texas.
Moderators will facilitate small table discussions of topics addressed in each volume of the memoir at each meeting.

Car seat fitting
Feb. 2
Williamson County Emergency Medical Services and Austin-Travis County EMS will conduct a child car safety and booster seat-fitting event for area residents. Certified child passenger safety technicians will assist families with car seat safety inspections, checking for expired seats and any recall information, and educating families on recommended car seat use.

National Wear Red Day
Feb. 3
This Friday marks the 15th annual National Wear Red Day sponsored by the American Heart Association. The event works to bring national attention to the fact that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women and raise awareness of women’s heart health. Participants are encouraged to wear red and donate to the
cause.
Cupid's Chase 5K and Fun Run
Feb. 4
Sponsored by the Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department, the 22nd annual chip-timed 5K run and walk will take place this weekend. The 5K race begins at
8 a.m. in downtown Georgetown at Seventh and Main streets and ends at the Bark Park on Holly Street. Participants receive a Cupid’s Chase T-shirt while supplies last. The event includes a Cupid costume contest. Dogs on a non-retractable leash are permitted. Event proceeds help to fund projects at Georgetown parks.
7:30 a.m. (children's fun run), 8 a.m. (5K). $10 (fun run in advance), $15 (fun run on race day), $22 (5K).
