San Marcos City Council and P&Z joint workshop is Monday.
San Marcos City Council and the Planning & Zoning Commission meet tonight for a joint workshop to discuss details of the city’s new land development code, dubbed Code SMTX. The code dictates how development can occur in the city and governs things, such as density, environmental considerations and drainage. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins St., San Marcos. It can also be live-streamed

A final draft of the code is expected to go to the council for approval in March or April.
Tree relocation project begins Monday in Buda.
On Monday, the city of Buda will begin work to move a 260-year-old tree from the site of the city’s future municipal complex at the corner of Main and East Loop streets. The tree is being moved to the southeast corner of the property, and relocation is expected to take at least two days.
Kendra Gives Back is Monday.
Kendra Gives Back is hosted by Austin-based jeweler Kendra Scott, and 20 percent of the proceeds during the event benefit the Hays CISD Education Foundation. Hays County Commissioners Court to discuss Jacob's Well operation hours, swimming season Tuesday.
The Hays County Commissioners Court will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Hays County Courthouse, 111 E. San Antonio St., San Marcos, to discuss extending the operational hours of Jacob’s Well Natural Area in Wimberley.
County staff members are requesting the operational hours at the park be extended to 10 a.m.-6 p.m. throughout the year. Staff is also requestingAsAA the swimming season be extended to May 1-Oct. 1. As it stands, swimming is only allowed at Jacob’s Well from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Commissioners will also discuss the status of an update to the county’s hazard mitigation plan and construction on FM 150 in Kyle.
