1. Sixty Vines
What we reported Legacy Hall creators Jack Gibbons and Randy DeWitt opened Sixty Vines wine bar Aug. 31. The restaurant features 60 taps and an extensive beer menu. The restaurant also has 36 varieties of wine and a menu inspired by the culinary scene of Napa and Sonoma valleys, including pasta, pizza and desserts.
The latest Staff started an herb garden similar to the one grown at neighboring Whiskey Cake and continues to add new wines and beers to its selection.
What’s next Sixty Vines expects to add add new dishes to the menu, which will be updated seasonally in 2017. The restaurant also plans to host wine paring dinners in the spring.

2. Celebrity Bakery
What we reported Owners Brian and Brittany Livingston spent a year reviving a famous name in the Dallas baking business that made a comeback in Plano on Aug. 4.
The latest The couple also reopened locations in Frisco, Dallas and Colleyville. The Plano bakery offers custom cakes as well as catering services, and lunch and dinner items.
What’s next A new location is set to open in the Dallas Design District in February. The Plano bakery is establishing its catering services and seeks to host spirit nights once a month.

3. Cuellar’s Fajita Ranch
What we reported Owned by the Cuellar family, owner of El Corazon in Oak Cliff, this “Ranch-Mex” eatery opened June 21 with classic dishes, such as enchiladas and tamales, as well as local favorites like chicken-fried steak and mashed potatoes.
The latest Family member Gilbert Cuellar Jr. said they continue to add to the character of the restaurant, which features painted walls.
What’s next Live music on the patio will begin in the spring and the family hopes to introduce new dishes, as well as the occassional mariachi band over the coming months.

4. Julia Pearl Southern Cuisine
What we reported The modern, upscale restaurant opened Jan. 25. Owner Darcy Dudley creates authentic southern dishes inspired by recipes from his grandmother and his wife’s grandmother.
The latest The restaurant has gained a reputation for its pork chops and its brunch menu; it also hosts live jazz bands during Sunday brunch.
What’s next The restaurant will continue to update its dinner menu to include seasonal items and plans to release a new lunch menu sometime this year.

5. Kenny’s East Coast Pizza
What we reported Kenny Bowers, owner of Kenny’s Burger Joint and Kenny’s Smoke House, opened his newest concept Aug. 24.
The latest The menu features New York-style pizza cooked classically crunchy in a Bakers Pride pizza oven as well as salads, sandwiches and signature dishes, such as midnight meatballs and chicken Parmesan.
Did you know The restaurant says it looks forward to continue gathering feedback from its customers as it rolls out new menu items later this year.
