Missouri City will host two ticketed game-day events as the New England Patriots play the Atlanta Falcons in this year's Super Bowl. The Texas Tailgate and Watch Parties—held at the City Centre at Quail Valley—are in partnership with the Pro Football Hall of Fame Players Association and will benefit the Missouri City Parks Foundation.

Missouri City resident and Hall of Famer Elvin Bethea said he was excited to reconnect with other former players, both at the city-sponsored events and at private fundraisers for the Hall of Fame Players Foundation on Feb. 3-4.

“It will be a lot of meet-and-greet of players meeting each other, seeing each other [who] haven’t seen each other for a long time,” he said. “It’ll be a fun time.”

Bethea, 70, played for the Houston Oilers from 1968 to 1983 and played 210 games in Houston. He has lived in Missouri City for 21 years and said he enjoys the small city atmosphere. He expected people would be excited to meet football heavyweights up close while giving back to the city.

“That’s key to me,” he said. “I like just giving back to the people that have watched me play the game I love.”

Both events will be held Feb. 5 at 2880 La Quinta Drive, Missouri City. Tickets can be purchased online.
