What we reported Bounce Bounce Trampoline Park opened May 14 with swings, a zip line, a foam pit, bumper cars, hamster water balls and group dodgeball competitions, and a ropes course.
The latest Manager Sarah Kim said the park has undergone several updates to improve features and safety measures. The ropes course obstacle and toddler-friendly area have been renovated, and a bridge and swings have been added to the park.
What’s next Bounce Bounce will launch a new promotion in which customers can buy one hour of play and get a second hour free Monday through Thursday during nonholiday hours. Birthday parties held Monday through Thursday can also take advantage of the buy-one-get-one offer. The staff is also looking at adding a baby-friendly area, Kim said.

What we reported Geraldine and Mike Roddie opened Cy-Fair’s first interactive real-life group gaming concept in May. Participants of all ages solve a series of clues to escape the locked room within an hour.
The latest Escape Now hosts corporate groups, private events, birthday parties and date nights.
What’s next An expansion will open by the end of January with three additional themes across four rooms: a superhero room, a classroom that changes seasonally and two spy rooms where players can race to complete their missions.

What we reported Local nonprofit Cy-Hope opened a new resale market, The Hope Chest, on Sept. 14. The shop accepts donated items, including clothing, books, working appliances, lawn equipment and tools. Proceeds help fund services provided by the nonprofit.
The latest Executive Director Lynda Zelenka said business has exceeded projections since opening. Furniture and home decor have been top sellers, and the DIY and Repurpose Corner has been a big hit, she said.
What’s next Cy-Hope staffers are planning an anniversary celebration set for September. Both resale market and monetary donations will continue to support Cy-Fair students through various programs and financial assistance for scholarships.

4. The Royal Standard
What we reported In September, Mark and Krista Pierce opened Nutcracker Market favorite, The Royal Standard, in the Boardwalk at Towne Lake in Cypress. The boutique has four locations in Louisiana and specializes in fashion items, jewelry, totes, housewares and travel goods. Store Manager Saree Anderson said the store sells everything customers need, whether they knew it or not.
The latest In the boutique’s five months of business, customers have given feedback on the kinds of products they would like to see. Anderson said as a result, the Boardwalk location plans to carry more silver jewelry and men’s products.
What’s next Anderson said 2017 will bring more kids items to the Boardwalk location, including a special line of backpacks. The Royal Standard is planning its Easter line, which Anderson promises to be full of rustic items. The Pierces are interested in opening additional Greater Houston area stores but not for several years.

5. C4Cryo
What we reported Cy-Fair natives Lindsay and Matt Laboski opened C4Cryo in late August at 16341 Mueschke Road, Ste. 180, Cypress. The therapy is designed to help fibromyalgia and arthritis patients, but it also treats a variety of health issues, Lindsay said. The business offers both full body and local cryo therapy, where technicians focus the treatment on one specific area of the body.
The latest Since opening, C4Cryo has received business from every age and area of the community, office manager Amber Villareal said. Since opening, the business has adjusted its hours of operations to serve its client base better.
What’s next In 2017, C4Cryo will look to expand its current client base to include more athletes, Lindsay said. In addition, the business will look to partner with running events by offering its NormaTec compression services as treatment to runners.

What we reported A second Laura’s Line location opened in July at the Boardwalk at Towne Lake. The store offers women’s and men’s clothing, jewelry, accessories and a line of handbags featuring high-end and affordable brands. Another location has operated in Katy since April 2015.
The latest Owner Laura Wolfe said the boutique she designed from the ground up is still maturing and growing as a brand. She has been pleased with business at the Cypress location and is constantly bringing in new merchandise.
What’s next Laura’s Line will introduce home goods in 2017, including stationery and spa goods from new brands. A new jewelry line and plus-size clothing will also be released.

7. Cy-Tex Gaming
What we reported Cy-Tex Gaming relocated to Lakewood Towne Square in early June, giving the business more indoor space and parking. The gaming and hobby shop sells items and hosts gaming events related to Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: The Gathering, among other card games. Customers can purchase single cards as well as packs and card boxes.
The latest Owner Brian Parish said he was able to keep his regulars while also adding new customers after the move, including many from nearby Hamilton Middle School.
What’s next Cy-Tex Gaming was approved to host a large cup invitational Pokemon tournament, which takes place Jan. 29. Parish said he wants to remind customers the shop will remain open through construction to widen Grant Road in 2017.

8. Little Craft Place
What we reported Little Craft Place opened in early September on Jones Road. The shop, owned by Ian and Eunice Lim, offers a large selection of crafting supplies, including washi tape, planners, scrapbooking materials, coloring books and stickers. The store previously ran its business online for eight years.
The latest Business has been going well for the craft retailer, with a good mix of new and returning customers, said Ian. The couple plans to attend the Craft & Hobby Association Trade Show, which takes place in Phoenix in late January, where they will look into new products and trends to bring back to Cy-Fair.
What’s next In the short term, the Lims want to continue to build up their customer base while trying out new brands to see how customers react. In the long term, Ian said he and Eunice—who is a graphic designer—hope to launch their own brand and sell their own products with original designs.

What we reported After operating at its FM 529 location for 23 years, the family-owned dance studio expanded to a second location in October, operating out of Cypress Oaks Church on Mueschke Road.
The latest The organization provides classes for students ranging in age from 2 to 10, including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, acrobatics and drill team technique. Business has started off well at the new location, owners said.
What’s next Dance directors Tara Carpenter and Shea Mallet said they are looking forward to the upcoming competition season where award-winning choreographers and dancers have the opportunity to showcase their hard work and talents. The group's 24th annual dance recital also takes place June 4.

What we reported Some Like it Hot Yoga & Fitness opened in August on Barker Cypress Road. The yoga studio offers hot and nonheated yoga in addition to a variety of fitness courses. Inside, the studio has three rooms—two devoted to yoga and one devoted to general fitness courses, including Zumba, high-intensity interval training and boot camps.
The latest The studio, run by Deborah Bracken, has added new classes since opening to accommodate customer requests, including Turbo Kick, TRX Fusion and an athletic recovery class. Teen, tween and children's classes were also added.
What’s next Bracken said she hopes to continue adding more classes based on customer interest. She hopes to be approved to use the lake in Towne Lake for paddle board classes. The studio is also planning a one-year anniversary celebration for August.
