Aquarena Springs Drive overpass
The city of San Marcos has partnered with the Texas Department of Transportation to construct an overpass over the Union Pacific Corp. railroad tracks that cross Aquarena Springs Drive in San Marcos. When UP completes work on a nearby train signal, traffic will be moved to the lanes on each side of the overpass, and construction of the overpass will begin.

Hwy123


Hwy. 123 overpass
TxDOT is building an overpass on Hwy. 123 over Wonder World Drive in San Marcos. As of early January, most of the bridge construction has been completed, and the contractor is preparing to begin paving the portion of Hwy. 123 near the bridge as well as the intersection below the bridge.


Timeline: March 2015-mid-2017

Hwy123and35


Hwy. 123 and I-35 improvements
TxDOT is planning changes to the area near the intersection of Hwy. 123 and I-35. Changes include improvement of the Hwy. 123 interchange, I-35 frontage roads and entrance and exit ramps as well as reconstruction of nearby bridges and improvements to pedestrian and cyclist facilities.


Timeline: fall 2016-fall 2021

Kyle


NBurleson


North Burleson Street improvements
North Burleson Street will be reconstructed to include two lanes from Miller to Lockhart streets and three lanes from Lockhart Street to Marketplace Avenue. The project was initially scheduled to begin in March, but the city of Kyle is in the process of acquiring right of way to accommodate improvements to the road, and Union Pacific Corp. is also working to acquire right of way to accommodate necessary changes to its rail crossing on Burleson.

FM 150 and FM 2770 improvements
Sidewalks and bicycle lanes will be added to a portion of FM 150 from Center Street to Hawthorn Drive and on FM 2770 from Fairway to north of Bob Shelton Stadium in Kyle. In early January, the contractor was working to construct the sidewalks on FM 2770.

Goforth-Rd


Goforth Road expansion
The city of Kyle is working to expand Goforth Road to include two to three lanes in areas between I-35 and Bunton Creek Road. As of mid-January, construction crews were working on the portion of Goforth Road from Elmhurst Drive to Brent Blvd. Work on the Goforth Road bridge over Plum Creek was set to be completed in early February, a city spokesperson said.

BuntonCreek


Bunton Creek Road reconstruction
Construction on Bunton Creek Road began Sept. 23. The city of Kyle will reconstruct the 1-mile portion of Bunton Creek from I-35 to Lehman Road. Reconstruction of the road began in November.  As of mid-January, the road was only open to eastbound traffic.

FM 1626 South improvements
The portion of FM 1626 from FM 967 to FM 2770 will be improved to include five lanes with a continuous center-turn lane and shoulders. The project is aimed at improving safety and mobility on the road. Hays County and TxDOT officials held a ground breaking ceremony to commemorate project commencement in November. Gas line relocation was ongoing as of mid-January, and contractors had completed removal of trees and fencing within the right of way for the expanded road.
