Tire Universe will be the first tenant at Gateway Southwest Industrial Park in Missouri City on Feb. 1. The move was announced Wednesday by Conor Commercial Real Estate and USAA Real Estate Company.

The tire and wheel wholesaler will occupy 42,430 square feet at the industrial park, which sits on 36 acres on the northwest corner of Beltway 8 and Hwy. 90. Tire Universe will be part of building 1 in Gateway Southwest’s phase 1, which includes two Class A buildings measuring a combined 349,000 square feet.

Gateway Southwest phase 2 is still available with built-to-suite spaces of up to 176,800 square feet, according to Conor Commercial Real Estate.

“We are pleased to welcome Tire Universe to Gateway Southwest Industrial Park as the first tenant within our Class A development,” Jeff Stringer, Conor Commercial Real Estate vice president said in a statement. “The park’s prime location and transportation advantages proved to be an ideal fit for this growing business that benefits from convenient access to major transportation corridors and improved logistical distribution to their customers.”

Gateway Southwest is one of several industrial parks constructed near the Beltway 8 corridor of Missouri City in the last decade. Others include Park8Ninety and Lakeview Business Park.

“We are pleased that Tire Universe has signed on as the first tenant at the Gateway Southwest Industrial Park,” said Keri Schmidt, Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce president. “We fully expect that we will hear of more good news about future tenants as Missouri City has been extremely successful with their industrial developments.”
