Today is the last day to see the Trail of Lights in Austin. What began as a small gathering in 1965 known as the Yule Fest, a gift to the city of Austin from Austin Parks and Recreation Department, has grown to be a communitywide celebration of the spirit and people that make up Austin. In the 51 years since the first Yule Log was lit, the Trail of Lights has expanded to more than 40 displays, 2 million lights and holiday activities. 7-10 p.m. $3 entry (Dec. 17-23). Zilker Metropolitan Park, 2100 Barton Springs Road, Austin. 512-970-8891. http://austintrailoflights.org.
