1. FM 1626 South improvements

The span of FM 1626 from FM 967 to FM 2770 in Kyle and Buda will be improved to include five lanes with a continuous center-turn lane and shoulders. Hays County and the Texas Department of Transportation hosted a groundbreaking for the project Nov. 16.

2. Dacy Lane improvements

The portion of Dacy Lane from Beebe Road to Hillside Terrace in Kyle and Buda will be improved to include two travel lanes in each direction as well as a center turn lane and sidewalks. The project will be built using $20 million of Proposition 2 bond funds approved by voters in the Nov. 8 election. The county is currently working to determine how the bond projects will be managed. County Transportation Director Jerry Borcherding said the Dacy Lane project will likely be one of the highest-priority projects.

3. Goforth Road expansion

Goforth Road will be expanded to include two to three lanes in areas between I-35 and Bunton Creek Road. The city aims to have the bridge on Goforth over Plum Creek completed by January.

4. Bunton Creek Road reconstruction

Construction on Bunton Creek Road began Sept. 23. The city of Kyle plans to reconstruct the 1-mile portion of Bunton Creek from I-35 to Lehman Road. Road reconstruction began in late November.

5. Burleson Street reconstruction

The city of Kyle is planning to reconstruct Burleson Street to include two lanes from Miller Street to Lockhart Street and three lanes from Lockhart to the I-35 frontage road. Due to delays in right-of-way acquisition, the construction start date for the project has been pushed to August 2017.
