Life for residents in the Bella Colinas neighborhood may be about to get a bit easier.
Bee Cave City Council approved the site development plan Nov. 22 for Colinas Crossing, a commercial development with neighborhood retail tenants, adjacent to the Bella Colinas neighborhood that is under construction at 15601 and 15511 W. Hwy. 71, Bee Cave.
The proposed project—owned by developer Cordova Real Estate Ventures—is located on 4.9 acres of the subdivision that is across from Nitro Swim and will include two buildings, of 14,640 square feet and 8,708 square feet each, said Runa Workshop architect Jean-Pierre Trou.
The site may include a restaurant, although no tenants have signed leases for the development to date, he said.
“We are very excited about this project moving forward,” Trou said.
The development is situated in the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction, or the area adjacent to the boundaries of Bee Cave, but does not receive city services or the right to vote in city elections.
Colinas Crossing will be constructed in two phases with the larger building to be completed first, including the driveways, parking lot, water-quality pond and utilities.
Access to the site will be available from within the Bella Colinas subdivision via Palermo Drive, Vail Divide and Del Dios Way, said Lindsey Oskoui, Bee Cave director of planning and development. However, there will be no direct driveway access to or from West Hwy. 71, she said.
