Salvation Army is a Christian ministry that provides services to anyone, regardless of religion or beliefs. Founded in London in 1865, it is now present in 127 countries worldwide, running charity shops, homeless shelters, and offering disaster relief and humanitarian aid. Salvation Army is also known for collecting spare change in red kettles, which goes to raise funds to support local services, as well as local Angel Trees, used to provide new clothing and toys for children of families in need during the holidays.
Community Impact Newspaper launched a new philanthropic mission in 2016: CI Cares seeks to aid citizens in our communities affected by hunger and poverty in order to give them a chance to thrive. The organizations featured in this section reflect that mission.
