Construction contracts awarded Monday night by Austin ISD board

The Austin ISD board of trustees passed a resolution Dec. 19 calling for the repeal of the state's A-F accountability system.

The Austin ISD board of trustees awarded contracts for a variety of construction projects Monday night, queuing the launch of renovations and repairs at schools and facilities district-wide. Here’s a list of the awarded contracts.

  • McBee and Wooten elementary schools: $438,800 awarded to Brandes Brothers Construction, Inc. for renovations.

  • Carruth Administration Center: $46,050 awarded to HCS, Inc. for balcony repairs.

  • Doss Elementary School: $222,777 awarded to Harkins Company for renovations.

  • Small Middle School: $1,263,200 awarded to HCS, Inc. for HVAC, electrical and plumbing renovations.

  • Blackshear Elementary School: $645,400 awarded to HCS, Inc. for HVAC renovations.

  • Patton Elementary School: $2,208,150 awarded to Balfour Beatty Construction for an addition and renovations.

  • Various facilities: $150,000 each awarded to Mechanical and Process Systems, LLC. and Beard Integrated Services for HVAC services. This is a one-year contract with the option for two one-year extensions based on the satisfactory performance of the work.

  • Various facilities: $100,000 each awarded to Cobos Design and Construction Inc. and HCS, Inc. for general renovations and construction services.

  • Various facilities: $100,000 for repairs and replacements of wood gymnasium floors awarded to Jelco Gym Floors.

  • Various facilities:  $100,000 each to Amtech Building Science Solutions, Engineered Exteriors, Hollon Cannon Group, and Jim Whitten Roofing Consultants to provide roofing consulting services for a period of one year, with an for two one-year extensions based on the satisfactory performance of their work.
