Friday, Nov. 11-Klein ISD will host its annual Salute to Veterans and Armed Forces ceremony beginning with a breakfast for veterans and service members at 8 a.m. in the Kleb Intermediate School cafeteria, 7425 Louetta Road, Houston. This year’s keynote speaker is Ron Youngblut, director of operations at Camp Hope, which provides interim housing and support for Wounded Warriors, veterans and families suffering from combat-related PTSD. Attendees also learn about the lives of six historic Texas Rangers who lived and died in the Grimes County area. The tour includes stops at the cemetery, home sites, other locations around Navasota and a visit with the local sheriff.
