County residents will find their tax statements in their mailboxes soon, according to the Fort Bend County tax office. In a statement, county tax assessor-collector Patsy Schultz said tax bills will be mailed out Nov. 7-11.

The Fort Bend County Appraisal District said approximately 900 properties were identified as damaged by Memorial Day flooding earlier this year. Those properties will receive an insert with their tax bill explaining their eligibility for a quarterly payment program, Schultz said in the statement.

Damaged properties will receive a disaster-adjusted value, which will be certified by the Fort Bend County Appraisal District and sent to the tax office. Once the adjusted valuations are certified, a corrected tax bill will be mailed to the property owner, she said.
