Early voting results indicate Ron Reynolds is leading Ken Bryant for the District 27 state representative seat. Reynolds has 36,771 votes, or 67.7 percent of the electorate, while Bryant has 17,581 votes, or 32.4 percent of the electorate, according to the Fort Bend County Elections and Voter Registration office. All results are unofficial until canvassed. Reynolds, Bryant competing for state District 27 seatposted 7:03 p.m.
Democratic incumbent Reynolds and Republican Bryant are vying for the District 27 state representative seat during the Nov. 8 election. Reynolds was first elected to the Texas House of Representatives in November 2010 and has served on the House Elections and Environmental Regulations committees. He is a past president of the Missouri City branch of the NAACP, a past president of the Houston Lawyer’s Association and a member of the Houston Area Urban League.Reynolds is an attorney but his license to practice was suspended in May following a 2015 conviction for barratry in Montgomery County. Bryant is an attorney with a practice in Richmond. Bryant is also a former Fort Bend ISD trustee and ran unsuccessfully for the District 27 seat in 2006.
