U.S. House Rep. Sam Johnson, a Republican representing Texas's third congressional district, has won his re-election bid with all Collin County precincts reporting.
Johnson earned 61 percent of the vote, putting down challenges from Democrat Adam P. Bell (35 percent), Libertarian Scott Jameson (3 percent) and Green Party candidate (1 percent).
“You know, some of the most patriotic people you’ll ever meet call North Texas home," Johnson said in a statement following his electoral victory. "The Third District remains a touchstone for faith, family and freedom. Thank you for putting your trust in me to serve as your common-sense conservative voice in Congress. Having your support means the world to me.”

Early voting results have been released and Republican incumbent Sam Johnson is leading the race for Texas's third congressional district with 61.66 percent of the early vote, as Democrat Adam P. Bell trails with 34.58 percent of the vote. Libertarian Scott Jameson has pulled in 2.98 percent of the early voting total, while Green Party candidate Paul Green has earned 0.78 percent.
There are more than 500,000 registered voters in Collin County, of which 56.24 percent chose to vote early in person or by mail-in, said Collin County Public Information Officer Tim Wyatt. Early voting in Collin County ran from Oct. 24-Nov. 4.
