Join the celebration of German culture and Texas heritage with food, music, dancing,
carnival rides and games. The event includes German, Texan and domestic beer; special events; and Alpine and Bavarian-style entertainment. 5-9:30 p.m. (Mon.-Wed.), 5-11:30 p.m. (Thu.-Fri.), 11 a.m.-12:30 a.m. (Sat.), 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. (Sun.). Salsa on the Square
Texas State University’s Latin Music Studies presents Salsa on the Square, with performances from groups that include the university’s salsa ensembles Salsa del Rio and Orquesta del Rio. Veterans Day Parade
The annual event, sponsored by the city of San Marcos, the Veterans Affairs Advisory
Committee and local veterans organizations, honors those who have served in the military. The event includes free breakfast, a children’s bike brigade and performances for veterans. 8:30 a.m.-noon (full event), 10 a.m. (parade). Free. Downtown San Marcos, 111 E. Meat Fest 2016
Bravo Company Barbeque & Catering presents MEAT FEST 2016, a meat potluck. With barbecue pits set up, attendees bring their favorite meats to have cooked. 6th Annual Dia de los Muertos Mariachi Extravaganza
The Hays CISD Mariachi Booster Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year helps provide scholarships for their senior students. All mariachi groups from Hays CISD will be participating, as well as Texas State Mariachi. Chicken plates will be available for sale, as well as goods from other vendors.
