Costco officials have been granted a specific use permit for a gas station and to allow the construction of a tire service center at its upcoming location at the northeast corner of US 380 and Hardin Boulevard in McKinney.
Costco officials said there still was not a clear timeline on when construction would begin but did say they were awaiting permitting for a few more items.
The 37-acre development, to be named 380 at Headington Heights, could also be home to several other big-box retailers, according to site developers.
The membership wholesaler has stores throughout the area, including both Frisco and Plano. Costco officials said they have been working with the city for quite some time as they researched the appropriate location for the new store.
The building will be 150,000 square feet with more than 700 parking spaces and a members-only fuel station. Costco officials said the store would be slightly larger in size and offerings than its Frisco location.
