Monday, Oct. 31 is Halloween. The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office encourages parents to accompany children who are trick or treating and to check the state’s sex offenders database to avoid areas where offenders are known to live.

The 7th annual Afternoon Tea event benefiting the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts is held from 2:30-5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3. at Shirley Acres, 217 Woerner Road, Houston. The event honors Jim Cain who has recently retired as the Klein ISD superintendent. The guest speaker is Nana Booker of the Booker Lowe Gallery and master of ceremonies is Judge Lincoln Goodwin.
