Hwy. 290 Project E[/caption]2. Hwy. 290 Project E
Utility relocations have delayed work on the Hwy. 6 overpass in Houston. Meanwhile, Hwy. 290 mainlanes are being widened to five lanes from North Eldridge Parkway to Hwy. 6 and four lanes from Hwy. 6 to Telge Road. Crews will start work this month on westbound mainlanes. Eastbound traffic will be shifted north, westbound traffic will be shifted south, and the diamond lane will be removed in both directions to give the contractor room to build. A direct connector from northbound Hwy. 6 to eastbound Hwy. 290 will open late next year.

TxDOT officials cannot yet confirm when in 2018 the project will be finished and are working with contractors on updated timelines.
