LCP Connected 2016 Benbrook Ranch Park[/caption] Leander City Council raised fees for some parks and recreation facilities, including the Benbrook Ranch Park baseball fields and the Crystal Falls Golf Club, during a meeting Thursday night. The baseball fields at Benbrook Ranch Park were completed in February, said Finance Director Robert Powers. The fields are of a higher quality than those at Robin Bledsoe Park, so the facility's maintenance costs are higher, he told the council. Council approved the following increases, effective Nov. 1:
  • 90-minute rental for Field 1 increased from $25 to $40
  • 90-minute rental for Fields 2 and 3 increased from $25 to $35
  • The fee for lighting the fields increased from $10 to $20 for every 90-minute period.
Powers said fees at the Crystal Falls Golf Club were lowered temporarily in March at the suggestion of consultant group Billy Casper Golf in an attempt to increase the amount of play at the course. He said the city is now looking to increase fees slightly. Council approved the following golf course fees, effective Nov. 1:
6 a.m.-2 p.m. 2-5 p.m. 5-8 p.m.
Monday-Thursday $42.00 $33.00 $24.50
Friday $45.00 $35.00 $27.50
Weekends, Holidays $55.00 $40.00 $27.50
Council members requested to review the prices again in six months.
