The city of Cedar Park is moving forward on the reconstruction and realignment of Anderson Mill Road. The city plans to realign Anderson Mill in several locations and construct it as a four-lane roadway on the north and south ends and as a two-lane roadway in the middle, Senior Engineering Associate Alan Green said during an Oct. 13 meeting. The roadway will also include turn lanes at various driveways and intersections. Phase 1 of the project, which was funded as part of a capital improvement project from fiscal year 2014-15, consists of the reconstruction of Anderson Mill from RM 1431 south to about Gaspar Bend, Green said. During the Oct. 13 meeting, the Cedar Park City Council approved the authorization of an agreement with Dial Development Services for observation and inspection services of the roadway in an amount not to exceed $110,000. Green said the city needed to hire an inspection firm with extensive inspection experience due to the complexity and size of the project. The city began to advertise for construction proposals for Phase 1 of the roadway Oct. 14, and Green said the city plans to open the project for bids Nov. 3 Depending on awarding of the bids, Green said construction could begin in mid-December and is likely to last about 15 months.
