The first of three Round Rock ISD board of trustees candidate forums takes place at 1:15 p.m. at Canyon Creek Elementary School, 10210 Ember Glen Drive, Austin. The RRISD election features one contested race this year as well as two incumbents who are running unopposed. Subsequent forums will take place from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Walsh Middle School, 3850 Walsh Ranch Blvd., Round Rock, and Wednesday at Cedar Ridge High School, 2801 Gattis School Road, Round Rock.

Tuesday

Taste of Cedar Park takes place from 6-9 p.m. at Cedar Park Sculpture Garden, 1435 Main St., Cedar Park. Hosted by the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce, the event includes beer, food, and wine tastings from local restaurants and breweries. Entry to the third annual event is $40.

Thursday

The Leander Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center hosts the Prospector’s Bus Tour, which showcases commercial and residential investment real estate and new residential communities in Leander. The tour runs from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m., and it begins and ends at Sarita Valley, 2836 Wedgescale Pass, Leander. Tickets are $20 for chamber members and $25 for nonmembers.

The Leander ISD board of trustees will meet at 6:15 p.m. at 1900 Cougar Country Drive, Cedar Park. The public portion of the meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. The agenda includes a discussion on the district’s goals and objectives as well as an update on district demographics.

Leander City Council will meet at 7 p.m. to discuss rezoning a property west of the intersection of Crystal Falls Parkway and Lakeline Boulevard from residential use to a planned unit development, or PUD. Generally, PUDs can include residential units and commercial spaces. The agenda also includes awarding a construction contract to build a right-turn lane on eastbound Crystal Falls Parkway at US 183. The meeting will take place at Pat Bryson Municipal Hall, 201 N. Brushy St., Leander.
